2. "Play Unified op de Club"

 

Play Unified promotes social inclusion through shared sports training and competition experiences. Unified Sports joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. It was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding. 

Dutch research showed that over 93% of the people with an intellectual disability and member of a sports club, play at a different field or different time as the other members of the club, while these athletes long for training at the same time and same field, to meet, to learn and having fun together.

JOYConcepts was asked to set up this program and introduce Play Unified op de Club at sports club in Holland. To make this possible we needed the help of all sports federations. They are in contact with all the sports clubs offering sports for people with an intellectual disability.

Clubs that took part in the Play Unified competition had a chance to win great prizes. Almost every sports federation made a clinic or training available from the Dutch Team or Dutch coach. Special Olympic partners Coca-Cola, The Postode Lottery and Craft Benelux also made some amazing prices available for the best and most impactful Play Unified activities.

For all the clubs and sports federations we designed a digital Play Unified-Kit with to tricks and tricks how to organize a Play Unified event, press release examples, texts for news letters and mailings, etc.
